"The Tudors" tv series

Further to my point about 'Merlin', I would like to emphasise that this is only one example of BBC dumbing down of historical drama. 'The Tudors' is another. Henry VIII did not look like Jonathan Rhys Meyers into middle age. He was obese by the 1530s and did not spend all day in bed with beautiful women. The programme makes no attempt to show historically accurate events.

Unfair comment!

All it requires is a little bit of suspension of disbelief. Yes,it's not historically accurate, but it's drama. Is Shakespere historically accurate in his plays?

Do you watch shows like Star Trek and Doctor Who and go 'this show doesn't treat science in a accurate manner, it's dumbing down'?

Alternatively, you could always repeat the good ol' Mystery Science Theater 3000 mantra.

'If you're wondering how he eats and breaths and other science facts. Just repeat to yourself 'its just a show, I should really just relax!''

Well, just goes to prove Spara - the BBC don't give a shit what you think and indeed go out of the way to make you miserable.

Take a Fox's Glacier Mint and stop whining like a useless chav.

No, however Shakespeare's plays are not widely presented as accurate.

Neither is this! The continuity announcer doesn't announce this as 'the 100% historically accurate dramatisation of how events actually went down that very day!'

Tell it to Richard III...

Hey, Bernie how are you? Ain't seen you in ages old chum!

I'm well, thanks. Being kept busy with work, running ODW and all the other things that keep people busy.

Anything interesting happening in the world of sparacus?

He tried to write something sans Who and BC, a truly awful even by his standards comedy of "manners" called Orchids in June. He has since abandoned it halfway through the thirteenth act (sic) and only Dalek-Warhol's linebyline rewrite is keeping anyone sane.

Oh, and LBC has done a Skins-BC crossover which, tragically, is probably the best Chathamverse material on the planet...

BTW, what's ODW?

ODW = Outpost Doctor Who

The place which gave sparacus his one sub forum, which he's now ignoring!

He's fickle, inni?
