'Black Orchid' released today

I'm watching the Now and Then documentary now - a fascinating insight into the locations. This is a charming little story full of period detail.

I found it a bit dull myself.

Anybody want to have a go at predicting the plot for the next Ben Chatham story?

Lily of the Valley

The TARDIS arrives in 1920s England where the Doctor and Donna don't do much, Kyle continues to grow and mature as a character, Katie is her usual horrible self and Ben takes the credit for saving the day.

Ben then cops it off with an aristocrat who is his body double.

It's a nice story, though as stated the "hey everyone, I've got a time machine" does make my favourite Doctor look weaker than he needs to.

I feel the season 19 Tardis crew are vastly under-rated and it's nice to see them kick back and be themselves under less pressured surroundings. Tegan=instant win.

Good grief! It's Lemon Fucking Cola! The ORIGINAL you might say!

I bet his bird's well pleased now he's also started to inhabit Spara's blog ASWELL as all the sycophantic messages to him at the DWF.

Dump him, love. Craig Meehan would be a better bet as a boyfriend right now.

Hell, I'd be a better bet.

And I'm rubbish, as a string of very pretty ladies could tell you...

Don't forget the month long Pertwee-plagiarism-that-totally-misses-the-point-padding.

Ah...

Hold on...

Can you spot which Pertwee story I've 'homaged'?

Lily of the Valley

The TARDIS arrives in 1920s England where the Doctor and Donna don't do much, Kyle continues to grow and mature as a character, Katie is her usual horrible self.

Ben, Kyle and Katie spend the night having wine and cheese. Ben is trying to educate Kyle about fine wine and cheese, and Kyle points out the obvious that what matters if if you like it, not how 'exclusive' or 'upper class' it is. Just as it looks like Ben might actually consider this point, Katie calls Kyle a 'stupid chav', then sees something and screams.

The Doctor (showing up for his obligatory scene) points out that Katie is looking into a mirror. Ben (somehow!) takes the credit for saving the day.

Ben then cops it off with an aristocrat who is his body double.

Well, there's a few setpieces from one scene from Day of the Daleks. You know, the one with no Daleks, time travel, Ogrons, or, indeed, anything other than Pertwee lightening the mood of a ghost story.

Yeah. Straight-down-the-line-missing-the-whole-point Sparacus thinking.

Day Of The Daleks is probably my favourite 3rd Doctor story.
