The Poll is about to close folks.....

And unless there is a last minute change it looks like 'Blake's 7' has won. So a crossover episode will occur later in this season. My next story 'The Zeroids' will be the promised alien planet story.

NO NO NO!

Sparacus, please, I'm beginning you. DON'T DO BLAKE'S 7! You've utterly ruined Robin Hood, Torchwood and Doctor Who. Don't take B7 away from me as well.

You don't understand the characters, the plots, the continuity... you'll do a horrible cack-handed mess like before. Which, of course, is your right to write, but NOT with Blake's 7.

I mean, apart from anything else, I've already done a BC/B7 episode, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back. When I brought back the Master and had him use mass hypnosis to conquer the whole world? Remember that before RTD stole the idea?

And besides, there is already an official crossover story written by Chris Boucher himself, leading to the highly... released series Kaldor City. That's seven audio plays, a book and the near-as-dammit creator of B7. Do your little fan fics have the right to trample all over established facts?

Seriously. Those polls are NOT reliable. People can vote as many times as they want! It is, therefore, not an accurate portrayal of blog commentator's wishes!

ANYTHING but B7!

Apart from anything else, there are only three specials in 2009. And you have done six so far!

IF YOU CAN'T COUNT TO THREE, HOW THE HELL CAN YOU BE EXPECTED TO DO BLAKE'S 7 JUSTICE?!

And I'm talking from a position of authority, Spara, as my B7 scripts have been published on an official website as a genuine part of the B7 canon. I've got the link somewhere. My point is, I've got the experience and knowhow to judge this enterprise as BAD.

Now, you know for certain that two blog commentators DON'T want this crossover. That, COUPLED with the fact the poll is unreliable and you yourself have deleted all those comments from nutters and changed the comment system, shows you know there are nutters visiting this place who like multiple identities and doing stuff for wierd crap.

Logic says that this a bad idea.

I'm honest-to-god-begging you. Don't do Blake's 7. Do anything else. PLEASE! I'll do anything!

DON'T DO A B7 STORY!

I couldn't help but notice that after I started begging for ST to beat B7 on the polls... B7 votes skyrocketed.

*Steeples fingers Leonardo style*

Well played, Mlock and LBC...

Seriously, though, please don't do B7. Or if you will, get either Ewen or myself to co-write, to prevent it being a 100% bitch-raping of by far our favourite space opera.

I agree wholeheartedly with this.

You will be ruining the memory of a huge part of British culture, and the work of some of the finest writers in telefantasy.

Your 'original' material is irredeemable rubbish, and your newfound habit of parasitically crossing over with other formats in a pathetic attempt to steal some of their fanbase and creativity is worthless.

You can't even piggy-back on the shoulders of giants.

So kindly stop.

Yes! Yes, I'm happy to do that!

It's quite sensible really.

See, Spara, you just write out the plot in one go like you used to do in the good old days. No need for dialogue or descriptions. Just the bare-bones synopsis, and we (or I, since JH's been a bit under the weather) can do the rest.

OR, if you don't want to compromise your artistic integrity... heeheehee... don't do it all. Do a Tomorrow People story instead. Never seen the original, only the 90s remake, so you might even get the characters and situs perfectly correct.

I'm honest to God BEGGING you man.

I'll take down the Chatham Odyssey blog if that's what you want!!

And, by the way, here is the official B7 project I am a fully-paid-up member for, which also includes participants in Kaldor City. So yeah. Less than six degrees of separation between me and Chris Boucher.

In your FACE, Ben Aaronovitch.

The site.

My ep.

My highly acclaimed five-star novelization.

You got any kind of credentials for writing B7?

Maybe we can get him to start the poll afresh.

Everyone who wants a B7 crossover, post here.

I don't want one.

Vote Neighbours.

Then it won't matter if Spara inevitably fecks things up.

Youth of Australia said...

Yes! See! Four confirmed votes AGAINST it, Spara. Have I ever asked for something like this? Do whatever you want, but stay away from B7... hell, "The Zeroids"??! Does that sound like a B7 title? Does it even sound interesting? What the hell does Zeroid MEAN? The Things of Zero?!

PLEASE! DON'T DO THIS!

I vote against it. DON'T DO IT SPARA! Please leave some good sci fi untouched. Please Spara, resist your urges, resist your need to wank off Paul Darrow and DO NOT WRITE THAT FIC!

Given the strength of feeling expressed here, all I can say is we'll see. I did have some ideas for the Blake's 7 crossover, including Ben falling for Tarrant and Servalan travelling back in time to present time earth, however other ideas will take precedence for now.

Thank you, Sparacus.

In all honesty, thank you.

A story with Ben falling for TARRANT (who we all know is so red-bloodedly hetrosexual he's borderline Neanderthal) and Servalan TRAVELLING in TIME (she's very much a girl concerned with the present) could have made me commit suicide.

"Could" as in "would definitely".

These other, NON-B7 related ideas, will be positively encouraged.

Bless you for sparing us that horror. You've saved my life.
