You have been campaigning for Rickitt for longer than David Tennant has been a Doctor. From 2005 to 2009 you have wanted him to appear. It hasn't happened. It won't happen as Rickitt is stuck in New Zealand on probation after shoplifting. Until he serves that and returns to England and what's more overcomes his personal dislike for science fiction and Doctor Who in particular, you have absolutely no chance. And even then the fact he's anorexic and most likely unable to cope with a rigorous shooting schedule like Doctor Who anyway...
Besides, the character of Ben Chatham has been and gone. 2010 Doctor Who is cut off from the Powell Estate, Touchwood, et all. You'd have to come up with a totally new character for Rickitt to play. Operation Delta, Katie Ryan, all of it is now completely irrelevent.
If you want to stand a budgie in a microwave's chance of AR being in Doctor Who, then it is time for you to abandon Ben Chatham and start afresh. That's not opinion, that's fact. You're trying to get people interested in a relic of a bygone age, you might as well be campaigning that Shou Yung from Battlefield replace Ace.
Unless you show a bit of maturity and intelligence and start afresh, free of Ben Chatham, then you're doing nothing but whinging in the dark. 2010 is time for the new, not the outdated and unpopular.
Maybe you could create a new companion for the 11th Doctor, maybe Lee Williams as a school teacher or something.
Stop flogging a dead horse and wallowing in your own failure.
Speaking of a replacement to BC, I happened to spot your idea for a new male loyalty companion for the Eleventh Doctor - one Joe Connor, ideally played by some dude called Johnny Mar.
Try obsessing over him than Ben Chatham or lose hold of the zietgiest COMPLETELY!

Operation Delta is an independant organisation, despite working with Torchwood & UNIT. There is no reason why a new Doctor would not look to it for assistance.

Johnny Marr as Joe Connor is another idea I've been considering. Johnny could be interesting alongside Matt as an older, streetwise and tough companion.
Operation Delta is an independant organisation, despite working with Torchwood & UNIT. There is no reason why a new Doctor would not look to it for assistance. Because the Doctor doesn't NEED OD. Or Torchwood. Or UNIT.
He can sort things out HIMSELF. Alone.
You have real trouble understanding that.
And, seriously, focus on Connor. Even Lemon Bloody Cola thinks Ben Chatham has gone stale...
Spara! I'm disappointed! You drop the idea of building up Joe Conner for another tired, worn-out has-been tale of Ben "yesterday's news" Chatham with the 11th Doctor of whom you will get as wrong as you did the 10th, and probably as badly as Spartha Jones.
This is irrefutable proof you are unworthy of a blog with this continual hypocrisy and refusal to make brave decision. This blog is dumbing down and it is the fault of the owner, who should at least be mature enough to accept the blame.

Rather florid comment. Please calm down. Joe Connor with feature in a future story.
I concur with the original post. And might I remind you, Spara, that Mr Moffat is undoubtedly familiar with the adventures of Ben from his time served as a OG/DWF dweller. You might have an in with him that you were missing with RTD!

I hope so. If Mr Moffat wishes me to contribute a script for a future series I'd be more than willing.

Adam is a superb actor. He featured in major Coronation Street storylines.

He is older yes. I don't see this as a problem though.

Actually it would be interesting if a Doctor Who companion had a dog (or cat) and insisted on bringing it with them on their TARDIS travels.
