Coronation Street vs Eastenders
Having just won an argument/discussion on another site regarding the relative worth of these, it is timely to restate why Corrie is far superior. On the one hand it offers a more realistic reflection of everyday life than EE, together with a more varied tone and superior characterisation. Wheras the recent 'burial alive' plot in EE served to emphasise its desperate and sensationalist scramble for viewers.

Corrie is the best sitcom on TV
Surprised you pick the happy soap opera over the depressing one, spara - I thought you considred depressing stories to be more mature than happy ones.
Sparacus, I hope you don't mind me leaving a comment which is really a thinly veiled plug for my blog but if you like Coronation Street then you might like to sneak a peek at http://coronationstreetupdates.blogspot.com
All the best.
Despite it being Southern & mostly rather miserable, I don't think EastEnders is a good fit for Mr. Sparacus.
Corrie is my favourite soap, but I have to be honest & say that, judging over the past year or so, EastEnders has been consistently more entertaining. There's been too much bollocks in the Street lately; the programme needs to get back to basics, i.e warm-hearted Northern comedy.
Surely Eastenders is better, since it got three mentions in Doctor Who PLUS an on-screen crossover, a crossover the script writers of EE seem to take as gospel, regarding the future of their characters...
