Some Bad News: Internet Problem

Unfortunately I'm unable to access the internet from home at the moment due to AOL's connections update not working on my computer. If they continue to mess me around I'm changing internet providers. This may cause a delay in the appearance of 'Crystal'.

I wouldn't have AOL as my ISP as a mater of principle, but that's a long story which I won't go into unless asked. :-)

PlusNet are decent enough. £9.99 a month can't be bad, can it?

I've not heard of PlusNet but I may consider it.
What did aol do to you? The other night it started loading a new connections update onto my computer unannounced and now I can't access the net. Their helpline is always busy and puts you in a queue with inane music for an unacceptable time.

http://www.plus.net will sort you out, Spara.

AOL haven't done anything to me personally, but I have a bit of a personal grudge against their parent company AOL-Time Warner which stems from something rather uninteresting years back.

Plus I've been reliably informed that installing AOL on one's PC leaves it riddled with spyware. Not sure how much truth there is to that, but it's what I've been told.

Having said that, my best friend Dan (DWF member dangeekadams) has used AOL's dial-up service for years now & hasn't had any major problems with their service.

Even a luddite like me has broadband, tuttut...

I keep trying to get Dan to upgrade to broadband, especially as he's paying just as much for dial-up, but to no avail... :-(

Dan? Forgive my ignorance...

DWF member dangeekadams, I mentioned him a couple of comments ago. :-)

Sorry, musta missed that.

No need to apologise, Youth. I'm just grateful someone out there is talking to me after "the Cull"!... ;-)
